For the exhibition “I wish we had more time” by the Institute of queer ecology, for the Klimabiennale Wien 2026 at the Kunsthaus Wien, I made 100 magnetic graphite slugs. Slugs have a different way of keeping time, of moving across the planet, they’re hermaphrodites decomposers of matter, gay, wonderful, slow, slimy creatures that crawl around the exhibition space.







Text for the publication of the exhibition:


The tectonic plates slowly pulling me further away from the Andes. The Eurasian plate taking me with her as we both see the South American plate move away from us. The planet has its own rhythms, stretching time and space between me and everything I used to love back home. I’m powerless. Yearly 3cm further apart, me and my backyard, the little lemons, the bones of my cat and of my mom in the ground, every second a larger ridge between us, our time measured in distance, 50cm, and counting.


Call it tectonic melancholy:
